  1. The MediaMax needs to be attached and accessible on the Internet.
    • While it has not been reported it is possible that some Internet connections may not support LogMeIn due to problems with the connection bandwidth or quality or other ISP related problem.
    • Unlike some other remote desktop utilities LogMeIn can access the MediaMax through protected routers and firewalls. This is due to the fact that LogMeIn uses the LogMeIn third party server to manage the proper IP addressing to circumvent any firewalls.
  2. A LogMeIn software utility has to be installed at the client’s site.
    • In order for LogMeIn to access the MediaMax through firewalls it is necessary to install the free LogMeIn software on the MediaServer and/or the MediaDeck(s) at the clients site and register the MediaMax on the LogMeIn web site.
  3. LogMeIn will not display any video being played and most of the GUI being displayed.
    • LogMeIn is best used to install software updates and perform general administrative servicing of the MediaMax. It is not meant to setup, analyze or troubleshoot the audio or video quality of the MediaMax. Setup and configuring the system is best done on-site.
    • There are other fee-based versions of LogMeIn that may be better suited to your application. Axonix cannot guarantee the functionality of any LogMeIn utility. Be sure to research how these other fee-based versions work and determine what is best for your application.
  4. Once setup you should be able to access any MediaMax via LogMeIn at any time.
    • Once LogMeIn has been configured on the MediaMax it is possible to create a list of MediaMax systems on your personal LogMeIn account and quickly access these systems at any time. The LogMeIn software should automatically startup when the MediaMax is booted up and thus you should not need to reload the LogMeIn software every time the MediaMax is powered down.
  5. Be sure to follow all of the steps in the software download section of this web site.
    • It is strongly suggested that you read both the README first that came with the MediaMax and if you are updating the MediaMax software the new README FIRST plus all of the notes regarding updating software on this Dealer section of the Axonix web site.
    • For example on the MediaDeck – Unless otherwise instructed -- it is recommended for simplicity sake but required to INSTALL software in the Admin account while it is necessary to make setting changes to any software in the GUI (User) account of the MediaDeck. The MediaServer is always in the Admin account so all installations and setting changes are performed by default in the Admin account.
  6. Note that PowerDVD may require a key to install. Contact Axonix to obtain this key if necessary.
  7. It is strongly recommended to contact Axonix if you have ANY questions when and how you should update your MediaMax software (contact either support@axonix.com or your respective Project Manager – refer to www.axonix.com for more information).
    • It is generally required that you update all components to the latest level for best results. For example be sure to update the MediaMax software, Player software (PowerDVD), Crestron or other control software and any other software that you might have installed for loading movies or virus protection on both the MediaServer and the MediaDeck(s).
    • In order to ensure the highest reliable operation it is strongly not recommended that you install any other non-MediaMax related software or use the MediaMax for surfing the web or other non-MediaMax related activities. Installing anti-virus software should not be needed unless you are concerned with other devices on your Local Area Network infecting the MediaMax.
    • The Axonix Dealer section of this web site has a complete list of enhancements and bug fixes that have been addressed with the current software releases. Refer to the respective software vendor including www.cyberlink.com for PowerDVD™ or any other movie loading or playback software installed on the MediaMax for details regarding compatibility of specific movies being played or loaded on the MediaMax.
